LHS Futureworks provides playful and media-based approaches to global learning and education for sustainable development for children. As a project of Lebenshilfe in der Schule gGmbH, we work together with primary schools in Berlin and offer project weeks, project days and extracurricular activities. Our projects are based on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations.
In this way, we are taking the motto of Lebenshilfe ("so that everyone is included") one step further: because in order to provide participation and a life in dignity for all people worldwide and at the same time preserve our natural resources, global transformations are needed on a social, ecological and economic level. With our project, we want to empower children to work together with us and many other people around the world to achieve this goal.
Our projects give pupils the opportunity to deal with important global issues such as climate protection, waste and consumption or children's rights. It is particularly important for us to show the children possible solutions and options for action. With the help of digital educational formats, they are therefore encouraged to become active themselves and create their own learning media. We then make these available as open educational resources, so that the pupils' knowledge gains extend beyond the scope of our projects.
